Dark purple orthorhombic or monoclinic crystals.
2. Physical and Chemical Properties
It is readily soluble in water, soluble in acids, alkalis, ethanol, and acetone; its aqueous solution turns green upon heating and quickly reverts to redddish-purple upon cooling; it decomposes at 100°C and is deliquescent.
3. Application
It is used in glass manufacturing, textile dyeing, and for producing chromium-containing catalysts.
